If there are say 50 registrations in the Seniors we can break them up into 2 teams of 25
If there are say 90 registrations in the Juniors we can break them up into 3 teams of 30
Remembering teams can be made up of 15 to 30 swimmers
Once registered each competitor gets picked off a draft process. That means in the Seniors there would be 2 coaches and they choose alternate off the registration list until no competitors are left.
The Juniors would be similar but 3 coaches choose alternatively.
The teams are announced to everyone before the gala day gets underway.
Once at the gala day the time schedule would look like so –
Juniors team 1 vs Juniors team 2 - 1pm to 2pm
Juniors team 1 vs Juniors team 3 - 2pm to 3pm
Juniors team 2 vs Juniors team 3 - 3pm to 4pm
Senior team 1 vs Senior team 2 – 4pm to 5.30pm
In every match the rules state that every swimmer must swim a minimum 2 swims maximum 4swims.
This makes it very tactical for the coaches.
To be the winning team in the Juniors you have to win at least 2 out of your 3 matches if there is a draw at 1 win each then it is whom ever has the highest points accumulated over the 3 matches
To be the winning team in the Seniors which ever team wins the match wins overall. To see how a match day program can look please click on programs
