Faultless Victory for Rhinos!
The Metro South Rhinos were faultless in the first ever State Championships. Right from the first event they secured the early points and even though they seemed quite nervous about the road ahead it didn’t take long for them to find their groove and start to really have some fun and enjoy their racing. They didn’t have it all their own way as there was a first ever 5 person re-race in the 25m free. If there is ever a hard race to call for a judge it’s the sprint freestyle races and even second time round they were still very evenly matched. The Lake Macquarie team saw their star swimmer Koby Hall with 3 races wins which gave the Wizard fans something to cheer for. But the dominance of the 10 and under swimmers from the Rhinos was evident as they had 4 clean sweeps and one of them being a power play. The end score Rhinos 71 Wizards 20. We thank our Starter and referee Jason and Judges Matt and Nick on a well run event and to all our volunteers throughout the season that have put their hands up to help out. We now Finish off in what has been an action packed season with our Annual representative match City vs Country on September 21st. Well done again to The Metro South East Rhinos and Tuggerah Lakes Tribe on being the first ever State Swim League Champions.
